Would you like to take your friends and family on a wonderful trip? Whether you want to do this as entertainment or are interested in building a professional aeronautical career, the ULM pilot course is your first step in the aviation world.

The pilot license holder shall be entitled to serve as commander and technical support and repair personnel of any motorized ultra-light aircraft.

Motorized ultra-light aircrafts are designed to have a maximum take-off mass of 560 kg and are limited to no more than two seats (including the pilot). They can be built in a proportion of 51% by an amateur or a non-profit amateur association for their own purposes and without any commercial objective

The use of ultra-light aircrafts is limited to private flights under VBWC - Flight Rules.

Requirements:

To obtain the license for motorized ultra-light aircraft, you must meet the following general conditions:

  • to be 16 years of age;
  • be the holder of a medical certificate
  • score at least 75% on theoretical examination
  • to be declared "APROVED" after the practical skill test by an examiner

Structure of the course:

1. Theoretical training course:

  • Aeronautical Legislation and Regulations
  • Knowledge of the motorized ultra-light aircraft
  • Flight performance and flight planning
  • Human Performance
  • meteorology
  • Navigation
  • Operational Procedures
  • Flight Principles
  • radiotelephone

Minimum recommended duration of 50 hours.

2. Practical Training Course:

Recommended minimum duration for ultra-light aircraft: minimum 40 hours of flight

  • 10 hours of single-flight
  • 5 hours of raid flight landing on two different landing sites other than the take-off

Required documents:

The medical certificate requirement may include:

  • Medical certificate type card according to RACR-LPAN-ULM Annex 3, which records the results of a medical visit to the territorial health units, specifying the flying ability, or
  • Class I or Class II Medical Certificate issued in accordance with ICAO standards and practices

If the pilot conducts flying activities in airspace classes where the radio link is mandatory, he must hold a radiotelephone certificate issued by the competent authority in the field.

Price:

The total cost for theoretical training and practice is 4000 Euros. The payment can be made in full or during the course. The pace of the course is set by the student according to the rhythm of accumulation of theoretical and practical knowledge or financial possibilities.

To the extent that additional practical training is needed or desired, the cost is 100 euro / hour of flight

A Class II medical license costs approximately 50 euros and is paid by the student directly to the aeromedical center in which the examination is conducted.

If a radiotelephone certificate is required, it costs EUR 150 and is paid separately. The cost of the practical examination is 300 Euro which includes the examiner's fee and two hours of flight.
