WHAT IS A USPA IAD OR STATIC-LINE INSTRUCTOR?
The USPA Instructor is one of three instructional ratings USPA administers, preceded by USPA Coach and followed by Instructor Examiner.
In the times of AFF, not all Dropzones are working anymore with the IAD or static-line system. Nevertheless it is still common in the military training and the instructor rating requires a special conducted course.
A USPA lAD or Static-Line Instructor may:

exercise all privileges of the USPA Coach rating

conduct student training and jumps according to his or her raring
using instructor-assisted deployment with a throw-our. hand deployed pilot chute (lAD) or static-line
teach the IAD or static-line first-jump course
conduct method-transition training

conduct training in the general portions of any first-jump course
-
train and supervise jumps with non-method-specific students

conduct the A License quiz and check dive

verify certain USPA license applications. according

to the requirements in SIM Section 3

supervise a USPA Coach in training students and making recurrency jumps with licensed skydivers
Requirements for taking the course

minimum 18 years of age
-
current USPA Membership (activate or renew through USPA)
-
USPA C-license
-
USPA Coach Rating
-
Minimum of 200 jumps (signed logbook, audible not accepted)

Study content of IRM (part IAD/S-L)
-
Fill in prerequisites on the USPA Proficiency Card

Fill in the answer sheet of the Open Book Exam prior to the course (section “General-I” and “IAD/S-L Instructor)
